2010 Club Car
Hi
I have a 2010 club car 48 v I’ve installed 6 new Trojan 8volt batteries I plug the charger in , it does what it always does ,starts charging , I leave it overnight and the indicator shows fully charged , when I go to use it , it starts to buck when I depress the pedal down fully , and within a few minutes the charge indicator is at 3/4 charge I’ve checked the batteries with a volt meter and found out that 2 are at 6.5 volt while the other 4 are at 8.5 I went back to battery supplier and they exchanged the 2 weaker batteries Once installed it worked fine for a day or so, Now same thing is happening , same 2 batteries are not being charged fully and cart bucks if you put to much of a load on it Any suggestions , charger seems fine , batteries are new , is it the OBC? Thank You |

Re: 2010 Club Car
It can only be your connection. The OBC charges and senses the pack voltage, not individual batteries.
Remove the cables from those batteries and replace them. There is a bad connection, short, looseness, or something affecting it. The other thing is get a DVM and check the pack voltage several times while charging. (And you can check the + & - of those 2 batteries a the same time) |

Re: 2010 Club Car
Sounds like you are only charging four of the batteries. Double check all of your battery wiring. Post a picture of your batteries if you can.

I did replace the 2 batteries that were weaker a few days ago, i believe the cart worked good for awhile because everything was equaly charged I will take it apart tonight and clean all terminals again, I did have a tester on while charging, 4 of the batteries were at 10v and the 2 batteries in question were at 7.5v while charging |

So i went thru every connection, cleaned all terminals, checked plugs at computer, contoller, motor, still didnt help Right now the same 2 batteries are at different voltages,(ive put new ones again) one is 7.3, other is 6.5, the other 4 are at 8.3 and the pack is 47.8 Cart will only roll a few feet, if you depress throttle, it bucks , and you have to feather it to get it to move , it barely moves It makes really no sense to me, any suggestions Thanks Don |

Re: 2010 Club Car
Try moving them around to different positions. Put a couple of your "known good" batteries in the positions the failing batteries have occupied and see if it changes anything. And / or move the cables around to different positions.
Are you running lights? Are they on a voltage reducer or wired across 2 batteries? Any chance those connections are getting confused with the charger port connections? Just throwing out some possibilities... |

Re: 2010 Club Car
Don, meimk pointed some good things, but tell us these things too:
- What type of charger are you using (post a pic of it) - I really think you need to replace those cables as something is amiss. - Please post a pic of your battery area with all 6 batteries on view. |

Re: 2010 Club Car
Make sure the charger positive wire from the receptacle (red wire) is on the same battery post as the cable that goes to the Solenoid.
If that is OK, the next possibility is that You have something connected to those 2 batteries that is shunting the current around. As NoleFan4Ever suggested, a picture of the battery connections would clear/prove either of those possibilities. |
