Default SW200 solenoid

I’m fixing to install one of these and the best placement for me is upside down, is there any issues with doing so? I would guess not but am not that familiar with these units. Thxs!

Your cart will run backwards.

No, seriously I don't think it matters at all.

You can not mount them upside down, just look at their spec sheet.

I stand corrected. If Sergio says no, then do not do it.

I have mounted them all sorts of ways with no problem. Perhaps not the best idea.

On the middle of the second page:
https://www.albrightinternational.co...zoom=150,0,250
This is the same for the SW202 Reversing Contactor, it has to do with the weight of the moving parts and the spring force.

Sergio, would there be a difference between "horizontal" upside down and "vertical" upside down?

Seems to me horizontal would not matter.

Correct, the only limitation is the studs vertical plane.

You can mount the Solenoid horizontally on the floor or wall with the coil contacts facing up, down or sideways.

I’ve mounted them sideways without problems, but I remember hearing not to mount them completely upside down a while back.

It would also make it difficult to service if you ever had issues.

Are these the solenoids that have exposed contact? A "Old School" mechanic told me to always wrap electric tape around the solenoid, which prevents trash from effecting the contacts....Is this a good practice or just a "Urban Legend"?
