Re: RXV Water Levels
Great info, thanks Bob! To echo Mike, if there a source/brand that you recommend like from WalMart or other widely available chains? I was using Crystal brand distilled water from Publix, not sure if they had a store brand or not. Thanks!

Re: RXV Water Levels
Here is a recent thread on battery water: https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=168193
I included a simple test evaporation test in this thread where you can do an easy evaporation test on your water. If it fails the evaporation test, your distilled water is not really distilled and you will want to look for an alternate water source. |

Re: RXV Water Levels
FYI, I live in Ocala, Florida. I have been using distilled water from Publix but became a little alarmed due to info in this post indicating Crystal brand distilled water from Publix might NOT be distilled but have some dissolved solids in it. I took a dark blue dinnerware plate and put some tap water (we do have a water softener) and some distilled water on it and let it evaporate. I did see residue from tap water but no residue whatsoever from distilled so maybe the Crystal brand distilled water from our Publix is OK? Other thoughts?

Re: RXV Water Levels
After reading this whole post I also did the water drop test on a small glass shelf and both the Publix brand and the tap water left a little circle when the water evaporated

Re: RXV Water Levels
Guess if I can find another brand of distilled I'll get some just to be safe.

Re: RXV Water Levels
For what its worth....may help though..
I have been using Zephyrhills distilled water in my car's windshield washer. Never have had any spray heads clogging in my windshield washers... Have used Zephyrhills for over 20 years no problems... Long ago using tap water...windshiekd washers suffered crystalisation. Give them a try.. |
