Default Medalist

1994 medalist -Solonoid clicks, voltage is good, F&R is good, I am getting continuity thru my motor. Could my 4 lug controller be the problem?

Yes, the controller could be bad, but it could also be the solenoid contacts, a bad cable or connection and it also could be something already tested with an ohmmeter that won't pass high current.

Put rear end on jack stands so cart doesn't take off unexpectedly.

Measure between B- and M- on controller with DVM
When solenoid first clicks, you should read full battery pack voltage.
If not, there is an open in the high current loop.

Here is a series cart schematic with high current loop traced.

If you do get full battery pack voltage, slowly press throttle pedal to floor.
The voltage should smoothly decrease to zero.
If it doesn't, check out the ITS (Throttle)
If throttle is okay, it is the controller that's bad

Digital volt meter. Also sometimes called DMM, VOM, etc.

An easier way to test the controller, take it out and shake it by your ear, if there is a sound in it like a grain of sand, or pebble bouncing around, bad controller... 9 times out of 10 this is true...

Run to autozone or the like pick one up, make sure it's digital, $18 or so. It is a must. "Voltage is good" won't give johnnie enough.

LOL, easier than that is the sniff test. Sniff it, if it smells burnt up ..... it is
