I was planning to buy that reducer scottyb is selling to hook up some other accessories but i wonder if i should wait until i get other batteries?

Cost rules... But I'd get new batteies before I did anything else... Just using your headlights is robbing you of hours of run time. Even staying with 12 volt cart batteries you will gain so much...
