Default Club Car president 48v battery cable gauge?

Looking to change out a corroded cable line. What gauge should I use. Had the cart kill on my when the cable got hot. The cable had a good bit of corrosion when I got the cart cleaned it up the best I could but it's not in the best shape. I'm assuming changing the cable will fix that. I have an 08 48volt club car with 4 battery's.

OEM cable size is 6g. Use 4g welding lead and change them all

Brings up a question: since welding wire has more individual strands of wire and since the electrons flow on the outside of those strands...would it stand to reason that 4ga. Welding wire would carry about the same current flow as 6ga battery cable?

Skin effect as it is called is an AC current phenomenon, and although we had a debate a while ago about whether or not the PWM current is considered AC with a DC offset, the critical part is that the strands would have to be isolated from each other to be a factor anyway.

The main reason to use many strands of small gauge is the cable flexibility for routing and to reduce stress at the connection points.
