Club Car president 48v battery cable gauge?
Looking to change out a corroded cable line. What gauge should I use. Had the cart kill on my when the cable got hot. The cable had a good bit of corrosion when I got the cart cleaned it up the best I could but it's not in the best shape. I'm assuming changing the cable will fix that. I have an 08 48volt club car with 4 battery's.

OEM cable size is 6g. Use 4g welding lead and change them all

Brings up a question: since welding wire has more individual strands of wire and since the electrons flow on the outside of those strands...would it stand to reason that 4ga. Welding wire would carry about the same current flow as 6ga battery cable?

Quote:
The main reason to use many strands of small gauge is the cable flexibility for routing and to reduce stress at the connection points. |
