New Coil, Ignitor, Pulsar, Plugs, No Spark
Sparky, trying to fix a gasser for a friend.
1998 TXT with 295 engine. Installed new coil, ignitor, pulsar and plugs, getting no spark. Used NGK BPR4ES plugs, are they correct? Engine turns. Cannot get spark, is there a micro that can cause this? Thanks, Muddog |

Re: New Coil, Ignitor, Pulsar, Plugs, No Spark
I had the exact same issue. Check that the electrodes on the spark plugs aren't damaged. Mine ended up being that one of the new plugs I put in must have been dropped somewhere along the line, and it the electrodes were touching causing a short and no spark.

Did you check the gap on the new plugs?

Check the pick up at the flywheel, I use a business card to set the air gap.

I think the only thing left are the plug wires?
Try cranking the engine in the dark. You maybe surprised what you see. Spark will follow the path of least resistance to ground. |

New wires on coil.
Could bad ignition switch, voltage regulator or accel. micro switch cause no spark? |

Are you plugging new parts into an old wire harness? How many years old is your cart? Have you ever used a test light that punctures the wires plastic jacket? Did you silicone closed that puncture? Bet ya if you replace the wire harness you'll find ALL your electrical problems. Corroded wires and connector and wiring I found looking ok outside but rotten green inside.

Re: New Coil, Ignitor, Pulsar, Plugs, No Spark
Typically if your switch or micro switch is bad, the engine wont crank. the VR shouldnt cause an issue with spark. You may just need to check connections or the LV wires to see if any are broken or have bad terminals.
