2009 Predecent brake light issue
So got a turn signal, horn, and brake light kit.
Wired up and double checked. Everything works fine. However, brake lights only work when the light switch is on. No brake lights unless I have the head and tail lights on. Same with turn signals. Any ideas? Went through old posts and didn’t see anything regarding an issue like this. |

Check that, turn signals work but brake lights and horn don’t unless lights are on.

Re: 2009 Predecent brake light issue
Was it plug and play or did you make any manual wire connections?
The 12v power comes from the dash bucket harness 12-pin connector and then it splits into: A Yellow wire that goes to the headlight switch. What kind of converter do you have and how does it turn ON/OFF? |

Plug and play. It was prewired for everything.
I think it is working as it should. From what I've read, Precedents brake lights only work when the lights are on. I'd like to get them to work whenever the key is turned on. That said, it's probably safer to just have the light on. |

Whoever wrote what you read does not know how golf carts are wired. Do You have a brake relay installed behind your dash? Do You have 12v available on the brake relay 1/4" connector Blue wire when the key is ON or only after you turn the head light ON? |

Did you connect the two wires under the floorboard by the brake pedal?

Re: 2009 Predecent brake light issue
There is a relay behind the dash. It makes a click when I turn the key on as well. I need to get a multimeter and check the wires going to the brake pedal assembly.
Sergio, thank you for the help on another thread. I will go over those instructions. |
