Solenoid click in forward but not reverse, sometimes.
I'm working on a 2002 CC DS that was previously restored. Everything was working properly until the reverse stop working intermittently. Replace the F/R switch and the MCOR (as these seemed stock) but now there is no reverse, no solenoid click. It seemed to get worse over a few weeks. Forward works fine.
Could this be a solenoid issue? Just only in reverse? I've looked for burnt, frayed wires. It's just weird that it got worse over time. As always, ya'll are life saving geniuses and I appreciate all the help. |

It's not a solenoid issue. Solenoid works same for fwd and reverse.

That’s what I was thinking too but google kept pointing me to the solenoid. So I decided to check with the experts on here lol. Just trying to rule things out and hope it’s not the controller.

If it is a series cart (lever handle forward and reverse) I would suspect that the micro switch isn't closing in reverse. I think it's the one closest to the front.

I don't know Club Cars as well as I know some other carts but, man, being that you replaced the F/R I don't know how it can be anything other than a wiring issue.
Personally, I would run fresh wires from the solenoid to everywhere the current wires go and see what you have. |

Re: Solenoid click in forward but not reverse, sometimes.
It is a series cart. New FnR just installed. I did notice the forward ms engages when the handle is pushed all the way to REVERSE. So both are engaged at the same time. This was weird to me but it seemed to be working fine at first. Could the prongs on the micro switches need to be bent to avoid this?
The micro switch clicks when switched to reverse, just not the solenoid when the pedal is pressed. |

The middle micro switch only makes in reverse and only supplies power to the reverse buzzer. The third makes in reverse only and controls the half speed reverse signal. So check that first micro switch. It is the only changing bubble variable. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk |

Confirmed micro switches are connected when they are supposed to.

Re: Solenoid click in forward but not reverse, sometimes.
I think I got it figured out!! The bolt on the bottom of the new FnR switch to the copper plate was loose. Note to self- tighten All bolts even if you don’t connect a wire to them. Ugh!
