Default Rxv voltage reducer

Ok so the blue voltage box that Igor says that I need a toggle switch on the 48 power side , so I guess it’s just to keep 48 volts from staying on at all times ?

I've always connected to the large terminal controller side of the solenoid. It only allows power when the key is on.

Why are they saying to use a toggle switch ? Can I not use a toggle switch and use the factory silonoid to turn on and off the reducer ? Thanks

What color wire should go the large terminal ? Also does the green switched wire go to the small terminal on the solenoid? Thanks

Nothing ever gets tied to the small terminals on the RXV. The controller can be damaged very easy that way. I'll get some pictures of how I did mine, it'll make it easier to follow.

I can’t believe how difficult a simple voltage reducer can have so many different directions on how to hook up , can’t someone just post a correct color coded diagram of how it gets hooked up to rxv so we don’t fry a controller … some say use a toggle switch. some say use a relay , some say use a cheap 4 wire reducer others say use the 5 wire blue reducer with a trigger .. please someone simplify this … thanks ps sorry for the Rant

I'm running a 4 wire reducer which is always on. The 12v circuit is switched by a relay. No problems at all. No noticeable draw on the batteries.
