Blinkers stop working when headlights turned on

Club car DS, the blinker unit says Everlasting. For some reason when I turn on the headlights, the blinkers stop working (the headlights are turned on with a toggle on the dash, so no interaction with the signal arm) I have put a meter on the 3 wire flasher relay unit. When you move the signal arm, the black wire on the flasher relay goes to ground and the relay starts to click. If I then switch on the lights, that ground on the relay goes away, and the blinkers stop. Anybody have any guesses? I have no idea how long this has been happening because this cart isn’t out at night, but I need to get it through inspection. Thanks!

I just took apart the Everlasting blinker unit. I did find a broken blue wire but I have no clue as to where it was connected. Maybe this is it?

So the blue wire must be from a lightbulb indicator inside the unit that has been removed. Back to the drawing board.

Most of the time this is an issue with incorrect wiring, or poor grounding.
This is an electric cart, so we need to find out where the lights and relays are grounded to. They should never be grounded to the frame of the cart. That presents a fire hazard on electric carts.
Follow the wiring and make sure it goes back to the battery main negative, or to the B- at the controller.

If there is a wire inside the switch unit that was cut/removed it's possible other wires have had the same treatment.

Measure the voltage with lights on and off. If voltage is sagging, the flasher may not work. Could be a bad connection or a bad converter.
