DS front cowl is easy to remove. Takes maybe 15 minutes

Has anyone put in a resistor or anything on their digital meter to retard how fast it fluctuates under throttle? If so...can you share which one you used to do it? I don't mean to hijack...I think the original question is asked and answered. Even with a digital reading that fluctuates quickly, I'd never consider going back to a bar type.

A resistor would not do this. A resistor would simply lower the voltage the meter is able to see, so it would read lower than actual voltage. A resistor by definition resists the flow of electrons. It turns some of that available voltage to the load (meter) into heat.

A capacitor would do more of what you are thinking, however it’s not going to be as simple as picking up a random cap from radio shack and wiring it in either

I don’t know why you would want to slow down the refresh rate of the meter though? It’s good to know what the voltage is doing, as batteries age that initial dip under load is going to dip lower and lower (temp dependent as well) and can give indications of battery health as well.

I hear ya. I may just be bored and not wanting to do more strenuous work on the boat instead. Just wondered if anyone had wanted their digital meter to chill out a little bit and "solved" the issue that doesn't really need a solution. I'm used to it, but I'd still not mind it reacting just a touch slower. It shows everything from dips on throttle to regen volts RIGHT NOW.
