Motor disassembly, maintenance and cleaning
While I’m waiting for the IQ conversion parts to show up, I figured I might as well do cleaning and maintenance on the motor before I install it. What if any maintenance is required on these? Best method for cleaning and dissembling the motor? Anything I should watch for on either dissembling or reassembling the motor? Etc

Re: Motor disassembly, maintenance and cleaning
Blow it out with an air compressor and change brushes.

Re: Motor disassembly, maintenance and cleaning
Check the brushes. I’d they’re worn and the Com bars are not worn then replace them. Most likely they’re fine.
Take it outside. Away from the house and blow it out real good with compressed air. I’d recommend using one of the extended blow tips that are like 2 feet long cause it makes a hell of a mess. Otherwise not really much maintenance to be had. |
