Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
With David's list (prior post) all the plugs on the harness are compatible, which would simplify the installation of the new drive system/wiring. I would think some skilled shopping around for the "personal preference" items would help control the costs. On the other hand, the sheared lug would be easy for Plum Quick to fix - but I never saw an answer from DKRgoods as to resulting speed. I once looked to get a D&D Motor for mine - but I already get a tad over 15mph on my Regen 1 (a bit unusual for the model) and the D&D replacement claimed only 18-19. Yours is Regen 2 so your mileage may vary.

Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
For what it's worth. The bandit motor on regen 2 cart with speed sensor unhooked will get you 17-20 mph. Speed sensor will hold you back to around 15 mph if it's hooked up. That's what it did on my 99 regen 2.

Leaning towards the Alltrax xct controller, d&d motor, solenoid, and 4ga.

Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
Ditto on what mrgolf said. I unhooked my speed controller too and had my son in-law follow me in his truck on flat ground and he said right around 18 19 mph. Everything is stock from solenoid to controller. 4ga welding wires, SAMS Club Duracell 8V batteries, stock rims and tires, windshield and roof.
I'm at a camp with TONS of speed bumps so I am more than fast enough. :-) plus... my grandkids are still small and... if you go faster... how are you going to stop? The brakes on these things are a joke. |

Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
I'll sell you a Plum Quick Bandit motor for $200 + $30 shipping. I upgraded my motor to a 6hp AMD motor.
