Help with noise.. columbia parcar
My Columbia is making noise when I hit a high speed. Sounds like something rattling in front of the motor but can't pin point it... if I let off the throttle completely it stops but if I apply any pressure to the pedal it continues until I slow down. I know it's tough to figure this out over a thread but just curious if anyone else has had something similar.

Re: Help with noise.. columbia parcar
It's really tough to pin down noise areas. One thing to do is to at least narrow down what part of the cart is making the noise. A couple of tests:
1) Jack the back of the cart up and run it at the speed where the noise would be occurring. If it's there then you know the noise isn't related to anything that would involve the front wheels / steering or suspension. 2) Remove the drive belt and run it again. If the noise is still there then you know it's coming from the motor / primary clutch. If it's gone then you know it's coming from the rear end / secondary clutch. Again, phantom noises are tough. My carts have a lot of them. I just deal with it and chalk such noises up as being part of a cart's personality. |
