Default ezgo backfires during de-acceleration

Is backfiring a symptom of a problem?

Model - Refresher - (similiar to Workhose)
Serial: 133 7268
Manufacture was either B201 or 13201-(can't read my own writing.)

Is this a 2001?
Thanks

That sounds pretty simple, so that shouldn't keep me from buying it? I am planning to do a compression check, would it show up there?
