Re: Speeding up your Club Car
I have a question on milling of the cylinder head.I have heard that you could mill the head to 50 thousandths.Would you recommend 10 or 50 thousandths?

Re: Speeding up your Club Car
Does anyone know how to remove the center bolt/nut off of the drive clutch on a 01 CC ds. My attempt is to remove. Any general help/direction would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Speeding up your Club Car
Make a new thread about it first.
Remove the bolt with a breaker bar or impact wrench. Buy a puller and remove it from the shaft. They are on a tapered shaft and you might as well forget about getting it off without the puller. You're probably going to have a lot easier time with it if you drop the engine/transaxle assembly out from under the cart. Remove the fuel line from the carburetor and the vent hose. Remove the breather hose. Remove the brake cable clevis pins from the actuators on the backing plate for the brakes. Remove the ground strap from the engine to the frame, and from the starter/generator to the frame. Remove all the connections from the wiring harness to the starter too. Mark them so you can put them back in the right spot. Remove all the nuts from the four leaf spring bolts and work the bolts out. Be sure you have a jack under the frame and the engine/transaxle. |

Re: Speeding up your Club Car
NO NO NO, I apologize.
My attempt is to speed up my CC and send in for machining? Very helpful. With removing the initial bolt, I do not want to break it off within the clutch. Is this bolt a standard thread or is it a reverse thread? From the passenger view it is a clockwise rotation, so do I just restrict movement with the drive and back off opposite of the rotation? Thanks |

Re: Speeding up your Club Car
On a 2001, the threads are reversed. Clockwise to loosen; counterclockwise to tighten.

Re: Speeding up your Club Car
If a clubcar has the fe290 get a driven clutch for the fe350. Then spring is different. But ideally just get the different spring.
