Default 04 gas ezgo starting problems

Hello, I have an 04 gas ezgo that occasionally won't start. Once in a while when I step on the gas pedal nothing happens, it acts like it is completely dead however the reverse buzzer does still work if that means anything. If I keep pumping the gas usually one of the times it will fire and turn over like normal and run normal until i stop and have to start it again. I have tried cleaning all the connections and checked for loose connections but didn't seem to help. any ideas on what this could be? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you, Frank

Do you have a voltmeter? If so, next time it fails to start, place the meter across the two small terminals of the solenoid and see if you get 12 volts when you depress the throttle.

I got my cart out today to check it with the voltmeter. It was acting the same way it has been, most of the time i can get it to turn over and it runs fine but in between it won't do anything when I push on the gas. When it was acting up i checked it and the one small post on the solenoid showed 12 volts when I pushed the pedal. the other small post showed no volts even when i did get it to turn over. Is that normal? So I was getting 12 volts to one of the small posts i then checked the 2 large posts. the first one had 12 volts all the time the other one didn't show volts when i pushed the pedal. Does that mean it is a bad solenoid? Would a bad solenoid act like that, where it works most of the time but occationally fails? Thanks again for the help. Frank
