DPI charger question
I just received my new charger today and I'm wondering if the charger can stay plugged in 24/7?
It was my understanding that the charger would shut itself off when fully charged but the instruction booklet says to unplug it when finished charging but I have troubles following these booklets. Does anyone that owns the DPI charger unplug after use? my cart sets for days depending on the weather and I was going to leave it on the charger when cart is not in use. I also have a working powerdrive2 charger for sale if anyone is interested PM me. |

Re: DPI charger question
. . . is the DPI also a "battery tender/maintainer" . . . or just a charger?

Re: DPI charger question
If you leave it plugged in it will maintain the batteries in a float mode where the batteries are kept fully charged and ready to go .

Re: DPI charger question
I leave mine plugged in and check my batteries monthly to make sure I am not boiling the water out, so far it has been good

Re: DPI charger question
The batteries will not boil with the charger in maintenance mode. There is just not that kind of amperage being put in.

Re: DPI charger question
I believe I will leave it plugged in and just watch the charger status, hopefully mother nature will let it start warming up here in Southern Illinois so I can get the cart out. Thanks everyone for feedback.
