Default Carts with seat belts

do the seat belts act just like car belts? Are they supposed to lock? I purchased a pair from a vendor and installed last night. When I tried to buckle the baby seat and 6 year old in,it would not lock until I was out 27 inches. That plus the buckle side was waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy to much .That was each side. I need them to start locking at about 12 inches. How far do yours come out before they will lock into place? Can someone post a measurement so I know if the belts are defective or the Chinese just think we are that FAT!

I actually went to a junkyard and got lap belts from a Dodge pickup. They don't roll out or anything but I can adjust them to fit and they'll adjust enough to fit Fat Albert or Twiggy. Plus they were like $5 including the hardware.

If you're talking about the inertial lock, like an impact and the belt locks in place, they should lock up no matter where they're at as far as extension and retraction.

Go to the junkyard and get something decent and extremely cheap. you might not even have to remove it yourself if you slip someone a ten dollar bill.

The ones I got from a vendor lock as soon as you pull about 12" out. FWIW. Cost about $20.
