Where can I find an input shaft for my 1990Marathon?

We have our 1990 Marathon at a service guy's, and we're getting a new motor. We also need an input shaft, as the tech says the teeth are pretty worn... He called his supplier, and apparently can't get one. "Maybe January 2014, if at all" is what he was told. He told me he's called around but no luck. It's part number is 5062 and it has 22 teeth. He says it may run okay for 5 days, or 5 months, but he would not guarantee that the teeth wouldn't hold as they are so worn.

Any suggestions on where I start my online search?

If it is a 22 tooth then it should be the same as the newer model TXT Ezgo's. Check with the site sponsors or here is one.

EVERY place I've called or emailed or tried to order from, it's out of stock, including your link. Seems like a problem with the manufacturer... Perhaps it's one company that supplies to everyone...

Looks like I'll just have to wait until "after the first of the year", and put the rest of the re-working of my EZ-GO on hold.

there must different inputs, as I have a newer TXT (Series Cart), and mine has a 19 tooth spline on the input shaft.

Susie, you could look into the exact specs for the rear end......is it possible that the input gears for a newer model will fit? and if so, and you hadn't gotten your new motor yet, and if a different input shaft will work, get a motor that will work with that input. Just something to look into anyway.

I just checked mine, it's a 1998 series and it has 19 splines.

The shaft is 19 spline that goes into the motor. The amount of gear teeth is 22.

I looked for 4 months for an imput shaft for my '89. Nobody makes 'em new and I couldn't fine one used. You can have yours refurbished but its probably cost prohibitive. Good luck, I gave up. I think mine was 21 teeth, I could find 22.
