Default Re: Rough Ride

My dealer recommended the steel belted radials for a better ride and I passed on them thinking I'd be mostly on the golf course but I somewhat regret that now and would upgrade the tires when I need knew. That and huge padded custom seats were a thing at my dealer but again, I am on the golf coarse and took the stock seat to be able to slide in and out of it quick. A good dealer should be able to get it where you want it if it's not a course cart. They seemed pretty disappointed I just wanted a utilitarian thing lol.

These carts are definitely lighter and little work was done to match Shock tension to the weight. Also they put too stiff a seat cushion in, causing more frustration. When a cart from the factory goes 26 mph, you feel everything. Yes, keeping your speed down on a course helps a lot along with driving on fairways, but remember, golf was an after thought for these carts. The golf package was an add on and they didn't even have a bag cover, its after market.

As far as tires, yea they put on crap. Club Car worked with Kendra to match the tire with the cart and the new Onwards ride like a Rolls Royce compared to Icon types.

As far as steel belted, steel and 4 ply are not as forgiving as 2 ply nylon. More plys, stiffer it gets. Through in steel... They will last longer, handle better at full speeds because that is what they are designed for. Ride? I believe most who buy them get the improvement from sizing up, not steel band.

I get keeping prices down for average consumer with Top end carts reaching stratospheric prices, but it cost them no extra just to put in softer cushion. Since you're a golfer (I also) go sit in a friends Club Car and just feel the difference in the seat. It sucks up tons of vibration, and so do their 2 ply tires.

Hope your next round of golf is a record breaker.
