Spinning tires in reverse...2009 Precedent IQ
I've recently rebuilt my Precedent, and upon completion I must have some wires hooked up incorrectly. I've lost 5 to 7 mpg going forward and my tires spin in reverse. I've searched the forum and found one posting concerning this problem with a Precedent but not confirmed fix. Any help would be appreciated.
The upgrades included ScottyB cables and OBC stud modification, and Jake's long travel, and addition of a auxiliary battery for accessories. Thanks and Merry Christmas |

If the cart is moving in the opposite direction of what the FNR is indicating, just swap the F1 and F2 spade connectors at the Controller.

No, that's not the problem. It moves in the correct direction, but noticeably faster in reverse and slower in forward than it used to travel.

Re: Spinning tires in reverse...2009 Precedent IQ
The Sepex controllers use a single signal from the FNR (blue wire) to control both the direction of travel and max speed.
If the reverse buzzer is going OFF when the FNR is on reverse and the cart is moving backwards, then all of the wiring is correct and there is no other adjustment. Is the speed sensor working? Have You done the push test to make sure the controller is sensing movement and tries to stop it? |

Well, the reverse buzzer has been removed (hunting cart). It has a brand new MCOR 4 conversion as well. Would swapping the F1 and F2 spades and then the blue and brown wires on the FNR switch (to correct the directional travel) do the trick? Speed sensor is on the motor or MCOR?

On the very end of the motor, should have three wires to a plug.

If You do get resistance, the speed sensor is working, it is located where Nsane said. If You have no easy way to verify the buzzer is sounding when the FNR is on Reverse, then first swap the Spade connectors on the Controller. If the cart now moves forward at the correct speed when the FNR is on Reverse, the switch the Brown and Blue wires at the FNR to correct the labels. |
