Default Battery Maintenance

I am rehabing an 89 Marathon that was in pretty rough shape when I got it. I purchased some year old batteries (Interstate Workaholics U1800 Deep Cycle)
that were used for a year in the cart the way it was and are now sitting on my wooden bench while I rehab the cart.

When I get ready to re-install them, what do I need to do as far as maintaining them?

Check to see the plates are covered with distilled water. Charge and recheck water levels before use.

are they golfcart deep cycles or just plain deep cycles? as mentioned make sure they have distilled water in them and check each one with a voltage meter see how charged they are now.....once you get them in and cables up make sure all terminals and connections are clean and tight and always keep them that way and always make sure they have enough water in them.......................

They were purchased from a Golf Carts of Houston, so I am assuming they are cart batteries.

Talking Re: Battery Maintenance

If they are sitting out over 30 days take your cables and hook them up and charge them sitting on the bench. Use some aligator clips or jumper cables to do this. I have some made to connect to my charger for this purpose.
