Re: clubcar carryall 2 stock height
I appreciate the input, and agree. If I do the Z plates, it will be aluminum, as I can weld a flange top and bottom to add ridgidity, and it will all be one piece, instead of just a bolted on web in steel without the flanges top and bottom.

Re: clubcar carryall 2 stock height
I saw a photo of a real professional looking Z-lift a few years ago that looked like it was actually 1 frame, on this forum. I was a thread about clubcar guys debating which lift was best for a clubcar. FYI Club Car uses a Z-lift from the factory on some of the CarryAlls and XRTs. Im probably going to make a 4 inch Z-lift for my winter project to make a lower but still wide cart since I use mine for offroading.

Re: clubcar carryall 2 stock height
Well, I ended up going with an 11" Zplate, with a 3" stretch to it for inside clearance. It is all aluminum, and fits 25x11x10 tires beautifully! All said and done, the floor boards are 27" and the top of the seat is 44". Looks a whole lot better than when I started! Only problem is I only got one tire in the mail today.... I have to wait 'till Monday for the other to come. (Drats!)

Re: clubcar carryall 2 stock height
I may still go with the quad front end. After I had already made the Z plates, someone had given me a Honda 250 EX, with a complete front end. As far as material cost on the Z plates, I'm under $20, so not a big loss for a do it right do over.
Never done, right? |
