1999 Club Car Batteries

After reading everything I could find, I have some questions about my batteries. I'm doing the 12 hour test or whatever its called. I unplugged my charger this morning and read the batts with multimeter:

Total pack is 63.5 (6 eight volt batteries)
Each battery reads 10.5 except one that reads 10.4

They are 4 years old trojans, 48 volt series system. I was wondering if these readings are good? After 12 hours of resting what should they be?

The reason I'm trying this is when I'm driving on the road the carts fast but when I run in the grass it slows down quite a bit (still runs pretty strong but noticeable drop in speed).

I've gotta go to the dr so wont be able to check thread/batts till tonight. Any info you guys/gals can give would help. Thanks!

After 12 hours after charging, they should read 100% SOC, which is 50.9v I think.
They can get up to 65v while charging and shortly after.

Replace battery in multimeter. I had bad readings from multimeter and replaced battery and readings were better. 65V after 12 hours seems very high. Sorry, after reading post agian, looks like you took readings right after the charger was taken off, looks "OK".

I had same problem with a cheap multimeter. It read very high with a nearly dead 9V battery.

Well...after about 12 hours, well actually technically but who's counting, 10 hours...still had a reading of 59.3 volts...does that seem high? What should I be having...I know it sounds good but the cart is factory...may be the right speed but seems slow to me especially when I hit the grass.

. . . did you replace battery in your tester? Pack should be around 51v @ 100% SOC . . .

Nope...forgot too when I took the last reading. I will replace the battery in the meter tonight and go check them. I'll have to start over since the carts been plugged into the charger since last night when I left.

Never had a 48v cart read 65v. Max I've seen is 53-54. I think its high. Def get a legit reading after you replace the batt in your meter

Couldn't get out there tonight. Had a few honey do's to do. Will try to make it out tomorrow then post my readings and hopefully get some more input with new batts in the meter.
