quick clutch question
I just put a new wider cpp cog belt on my g16. When I rev it up I notice the belt doesnt ride all the way to the top of the primary. On th eprimary sheave towards the top it seems that theres a groove or indent towards the top too, is that supposed to be there and is th ebelt supposed to ride all the way to the top? Im only getting 20-21mph with the gov removed on a flat street and from what ive read I should be at around 25mph.

Re: quick clutch question
i had a g16 with a groove at he top of the clutch, it still went to the top so I think it was not loosing any speed, but the groove was caused buy it slipping, it had a small oil leak, that was getting on the belt,of course the golf course just drove it, hence the groove,, but you will loose speed if it isn't going all the way to the top, is your belt the stock one, I think the size is very important, I am not sure if you can adjust the engine back a little, if so that would let it ride up, and the cart will go faster,, if you still have the stock belt compare the size;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Re: quick clutch question
Its the stock wider replacement from cpp. Its supposed to be the same length just wider for better takeoff.

Re: quick clutch question
sounds like that's the answer, the wider belt will;;; get you going faster but not go top end as a standard width belt will,,,, go back to the standard............
