Default G16 accelerator adjustment

Hi Folks,
First time posting. I have a G16, and a G22 and both are in good shape. (I`ll post pics soon) I keep the G16 at lake Weiss, in Alabama, at the Cherokee Camper park year round, and have for several years. Recently, the G16 started smoking from the exaust really badly. I brought it home. and my tractor mechanic volunteered to do the work, at a good price. He rebuilt the engine and installed a nice rebuilt starter/ generator for $ 400.00 total. Which I was very happy with. Now, the accelerator is too responsive AS soon as you touch it, it jerks hard, it wants to go! How do I get it back to specs?
thank you in advance

Remove airbox and throttle cable clevis, check carb to verify throttle is closing all the way (this does not idle, so All the way closed), reinstall throttle cable clevis. Loosen 10mm nut at bracket on transaxle attached to "carb to governor" cable, adjust lock nuts & cable until you have just enough slack that the carb does not begin to open until starter begins to turn.
