36 volt TXT Series drive won't move but solenoid is clicking
I have 36 volt EZGO TXT cart. I think it is a "Series" drive with a Curtis controller. It has the F/R shifting handle beneath my right leg. Cart has been running fine with a fresh set of batteries. The pack voltage is over 38 volts. for some reason now you can drive about 100 yards and the cart dies. The solenoid is still clicking every time I push the pedal. I even installed a solenoid thinking that was the problem and it did not change. After it dies, you can wait about 24 hours and then it will have power to the rear wheels again but not for very long.
I've checked the pack voltage to the solenoid and it is correct. I tried to follow the trouble shooting ideas of checking different voltages at M-, B-, and B+. If anyone has a good set of steps I could follow to identify what the problem is that would be great. Photo of the id tag has H103 with 2017958 under it. The part number of the Curtis controller is 25864G09 and the S/N is 2322-P014580L. Thanks for your help in advance. |

What is the voltage between the controller's B- and B+ terminals when cart is misbehaving?

Check the ITS throttle voltages.
There is 4-pin in-line connector at the end of the gray cable coming from the pedal box under the floor. It get corroded and causes all sorts of problems. Most people eliminate it with solder joints or butt-splices and cover them with marine grade heat shrink tubing (adhesive filled) to water proof. |

Re: 36 volt TXT Series drive won't move but solenoid is clicking
I know the gray cable coming from the pedal box and it has a molex (?) style connector that i can take apart. Do I take this molex connector apart and find these voltages while it is apart or do i take the voltage readings where it plugs into the top of the control box? I'm not sure which pin is 1 or 2.

Re: 36 volt TXT Series drive won't move but solenoid is clicking
I looked closer at my controller and the male pins on the top of the controller are numbered from 1-6. Pin 1 is a white wire and pin 2 is black.
I followed your steps with the key on and the cart in F and the solenoid just clicking for the first two measurements. voltage between B- and controller pin 2 was 14.55. Voltage between B- and controller pin 1 was .001. Voltage between B- and Controller pin 1 with the throttle fully depressed was .001 |

the molex connector looks very good. no damage to it. i took it apart and all the contacts look brand new on the inside of both halves.

Re: 36 volt TXT Series drive won't move but solenoid is clicking
Sounds like the ITS sensor in the pedal box is bad, OR the white wire connecting it to the controller is bad.
