Default Speed magnet, Freedom mode, or both?

Just picked up a 2016 Express S4 HO and it maxes out at around 16/17. Do those $40 speed magnets really work? If so, is there any benefit to having the dealer up the speed limit on the cart or would that be wasted money since the speed magnet will speed it up more than freedom mode (I.e., more than 19.6mph). I’m running 22” tires and would like to see at least low 20’s if not more but don’t want to spend the money for a new motor, controller, etc. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Default Re: Speed magnet, Freedom mode, or both?

Update: Dealer says if it’s hitting 16.5 mph, it’s already in freedom mode. Does that seem right or should I check with another dealer? I thought freedom mode would give about 19.6 mph with factory tires and I’ve got 22’s on mine.

The 48V S4 did not get a 19.5 MPH Freedom mode. Heck, even the 72V S4 does not get it. They are typically set for a 16 MPH maximum. The speed issue with larger tires relates to the default SepEx motor maps cannot match the new motor loading when larger tires have been put on.
