Thanks. I will have my son re-check those wires. I did unplug them all to take the V-glide out. I had him plug them all back together for me cause it was tight for me to get my hands in there.

The usual culprit for a burned out limit switch is a bad diode on the solenoid. The diode should be across the small terminals of the solenoid. Remove one end and test it with a diode check function of a multimeter.

Also a click, but no go, can be due to burned or worn contacts inside the solenoid. If that issue continues to happen, replacing the solenoid would probably be a good step.
