rear end growling
Just got back from a trip around the block, the rear end always had a growl to it,but upon returning the growl changed to a vibration.I stopped the cart, pressed the accelorator to take off and heard heavy grinding under the seat I looked underneath to find I lost some plastic thingys on the sec clutch! I also don't remember those hubs being so far apart.
I pushed the ouside sheave in with a 2X4 and noticed the threads were worn on the shaft and the washer was dished shaped .Is this normal? sorry for the blurry pics |

Re: rear end growling
Not Normal.... That is a completely destroyed driven clutch ..... Do not try to drive it .... You need a new one.

Re: rear end growling
What parts do I need? Can you buy everything in a kit? Should I just buy a performance clutch?
I can probably buy a used assembly,is this wise? I"m not hillclimbing or anything, just want a campground shuttle. |

Here is a place to get parts. I am new to the golf cart seen and I was looking at your pics and I have the same cart. It looks like your shoe ramps are gone it also looks like the threaded shaft is bent. The shaft could most likely be straightened. I think I am going to get some extra shoe ramps and keep them on hand and replace them ever so often. Could someone tell me what will make a clutch last longer??? I would guess proper belt tension and keeping good shoe ramps on it but would like to here from a pro. Thanks, Joe |
