Re: drive train?
Welcome to BGW
Yes, they have a differential just like a cart. The motor is bolted straight to the axle. Take a look. |

Re: drive train?
Welcome to the forum.
Your cart is made up of several batterys wired in series to give a high total voltage reading. 36V or 48V That is the battery pack. The battery pack then gpes to the controller. The controller gets feedback from a throttle sensor and a rear axle seed sensor. It computes the voltage needed to satisfy the sigals and sends it to the motor and there goes the cart. The motor is mounted on the axle as was said and there is no drive shaft, the motor turn the gears directly in the differential. |

Re: drive train?
I am new to carts as well. But what I have found is that there is a wealth of info on this forum. Spend some time reading different threads, asking questions, and understanding what carts are all about. You will begin to understand enough to at least make you dangerous. That is when the fun starts, and also when you should ASK MORE QUESTIONS!!!!
Have fun, I have already and as they say save up some money........ |

Re: drive train?
After driving the cart for 15+ golf holes, when I step on the pedel I get a small chatter (as if something is slipping). The batteries are dated 12/09. I charge the batteries every time I use the cart.
Would low voltage (bad battery) cause a chatter when starting to go? Then the cart runs fine once it starts rolling. Tom M |
