Re: snapping my neck taking off
Does the motor start and run through the whole RPM range in neutral?
Also check the weights on primary clutch, under the cover. Look for weights that are loose or look out of place |

Re: snapping my neck taking off
What model cart is it?
A new belt can be sticky and make the cart creep for a little bit until it gets some dust and breakin time on it. Make sure the primary clutch on the engine has been lubed and slides out from the belt easily at rest. It needs to fall out by itself so it has to move freely. Unless you have a G1 they have a spring in the original clutches, if not replaced. |

Re: snapping my neck taking off
This is a common problem when installing a new belt on a G1. Your primary clutch needs taken apart, cleaned and lubed. No puller needed for this. Chances are if you hit the gas and the cart is moving forward before the engine starts then your primary clutch is not expanded all of the way.
