Default 48v G29 slight growl on decel

New to the cart world but not wrenches and toys. Im looking at a deal on a 08 g29 that has a slight growl on deceleration. Being that Im not very up to date on the regen braking system I have a few questions. Seller (nice guy) says they pulled the motor and found it to have zero shaft play, changed the gear oil and reinstalled. I rode the cart a few blocks today and its silent until the regen brake kicks in, and if you unplug the motor sensor thingy it makes a little noise while underway and a little more noise under regen. Any of you guys ran across this before?

Check for "white tag" axle. Dont know what that means? Search here. The "white tag" team axle has a bad gear in it that is destined to fail, just a question of how soon. Also, does the cart have aftermarket high speed gears?

Take the motor off and inside the shaft of the armature there is a bushing. Those bushings wear down and you get chatter. Take the bushing out, put a penny or two in the shaft and the place the bushing back in with a dab of grease. Chatter will stop

Carts retired from a golf course in Alabama so I'm fairly sure the gears are stock, it had the fisn 300 amp controller in it for most of its life for one reason or another. I bought my current cart from these guys and traded the stock controller for the fisn and now I'm up to 22 mph on my 2011. Put the stock box back into this 08 on site and the noise stayed consistent but the mph fell back to stock 11mph. My carts a little too nice for the kiddos and I'd like to keep it that way and that's why I'm contemplating purchasing this 08 and let them beat it to crap at 1200$.

as cgtech said CHECK for the white tag axle. This is a known problem with these carts and it's an expensive fix. Easy to check!

Put the bushing pennies in and the growling is gone!

New issue upon reinstall. The f2 terminal kept spinning and I believe whatever that post makes contact with may have come loose. The motor takes about 5 seconds to engage and when switched to reverse it moves forward also taking forever to engage

Oh no! Motor needs removed and inspection/repair. That was a mistake (allowing it to spin).
