I hate stock battery tie downs
Hey folks,
I just got a new set of batteries for the ole G1 and I hate those stock tie downs. Anyone willing to share any ideas of what they have used to keep those batteries in check over some, so, so, rough ground? Maybe something plastic the acid doesn't corrode. Will zip ties work? Dave |

Re: I hate stock battery tie downs
The Yamaha tie down rods are pathetic. I have seen them with short bungee cords. They seem to work pretty good

Re: I hate stock battery tie downs
Is there such a thing that can ratchet a zip tie tight? I could find some plastic corner L type pieces for the sharp edges of the battery tray but I don`t think you can pull a zip tie tight enough by hand.

Re: I hate stock battery tie downs
You big babies! Here's something you could try....since the battery configuation is 3 per side, cut a peice of thick plastic (1/4") into a square (about 4 to 5 inches), drill a hole in the battery metal frame work in the center of the 3 battery configuration. Just like Ezy-Slo's do. That should keep them in place and keep you from "whining"

Re: I hate stock battery tie downs
He is a thread killer we are supposed to banter ideals back and fourth to arrive at a conclusion. Block comes in and slam dunks the solution, on the fourth post.
Thanks Block |
