Default Yamaha G14e - Controller or Solenoid... thoughts?

HI All,

First post after introduction. I picked up a Yamaha G14e and am starting to refurbish it. It had sat for a couple years and just got all new batteries, new battery tie cables, back seat and tires. Wired up per wiring diagram and nothing. Turning the key doesn't do anything. Pulling the key wiring and jumping it nothing as well. Checking voltage at the solenoid (checked prior to reading more on here) it was there at the small terminal (and clicked when jumped), but no movement when stepping on the pedal. This cart also has the complete light package which also is not responding. I can't find a run/tow switch either... which would have been nice to see in "tow" setting!

Overall the wiring is in great shape and looks unmolested. My father came by and checked through it based on his years of experience fixing electric party boats and his thought was that the controller is dead. So far though I've not heard any solenoid click no matter how I get power there. I honestly keep getting home with it too late and cold outside to go mess with it so I haven't done a proper trace of the wiring, just hoping there may be some initial thoughts from the group. I've also spent time reading posts and haven't really had the aha moment.

Any sage?

Thanks!

If the schematic shows a run/tow switch, find it. Make sure it is in the Run position. I don't think you get volts at the solenoid small terminal if it's in tow though.

G14 is "series". no "tow-run" switch. The "G14-16" OEM controller sucks in my opinion. Alltrax "anything" would be better. I would diagnose it, then buy a better controller. I dont think the Alltrax is the "do-all-end-all" controller, but its easily the best value anywhere. Talk to "ScottyB" www.cartsunlimited.net, his deals are the best you will find.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. After playing around further Im coming to terms with it being the controller. I may just order the 400a controller that cartsunlimited.com has available. Thanks for the referral cgtech!
