The 205/50/10 works out to a whisper over 18" while the actual height of a 18.5x8-8 labeled tire can be anywhere from under 17.5" to over 19.5", so if you want to know how much the torque and speed will change with the new tires, you'll need to physically measure the height of the original tires. For example, my Carlisle Turf Master tires are labeled 18x8-8 and the Carlisle website says they have a MTD (Mounted Tire Diameter) of 18.3", they actually measure 17.04". |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Ok I got a tough question.
Trying to replace the leaf springs (easy) . Problem is that the bolts installed on the oem are toast , so I need a new set of u bolts and a plate. This is a 2" axle and original bolts are 5" . Round axle. The oem part number is 30553-G2 . I found another part number that seems to dimensionally fit via description but no one can tell me if the measurement is ID. That is a ubolt for a 1965-1994 ezgo part number 12058-G2. The TXT axle ubolts are these square axle bolts that are half the length I need. I've been to nothern tools, tractor supply and autozone. These folks have square bolts or short round but nothing that I need. |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Ended up with these hd u bolts. 2" round@ 5.5" were too elusive. Grabbed this hd kit semi round 2" ubolts from nothern tools for ~ 25 .
Had to cut off old bolts (rt) because the bolts were folded over after the nut. The left square bolt is the stock txt bolt for reference. |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Just fell in love with this one at mission golf carts here in San Antonio.
The body was dipped. Dual lithium packs. Pretty cool. |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
I decided to do the complete disassembly of the cart because I found that the battery tray was rusted through. To replace the battery tray I needed to remove the main body, which has a lot connected to it. Once the front was off because I planned to install a new light kit, I found that the cart was hit in the front and had a minor bend in the frame. It was like peeling an onion, one thing definitely led to another...

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
I have 5.5 year old ranger 160's installed in this shuttle and considering a move to lithium power by the summer or longer depending on the performance of this set. The purpose is to achieve a significant weight reduction and gain range as well.
We usually get less than 5 miles out of our drive because of the hills...depending on our route, (according to my watch) we gain about 236 ft of elevation versus 315 ft of loss . Lots of up and down hills an elevation of 900~1100ft above sea level. Considering this cart, the area we use it and the usual passenger load of 4+, would a minimum of 100ah lithium set up be considered minimum? Or what would be your suggestion? Thank you in advance. |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Did you end up making a decision about the parking brake? I’ve got a 2001 Shuttle. The hydraulic brakes work well, but have been having ongoing issues with the foot parking brake engaging intermittently.

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
I purchased a new cable and had worked perfectly. I just need to clean up the way the parking brake disengages, currently it will smash your hand if your not careful!
