Default 2015 RXV Battery Repair

I have the trojan 6 battery set up in my RXV and I had to replace the post on the main battery terminal which is holding up good then not long after I had to replace the main negative battery terminal by tap and die which worked good for awhile but now the set screw I used is loose on this one. I want to make these batteries last at least a few more months. I broke down in the neighborhood the other day and was able to adjust it and get going again but if the wife and kids go without me they probably wont know what to do.

I guess the soft lead on the battery post I tapped and set wallered out and its loose. Is there something like a filler or something that will bond to the lead and hold the post tight?

I'm not ready to drop money on new batteries and not sure if I want to go with the same brand battery, different brand or go to a lithium drop in.

I use a "hanger bolt" that is threaded for wood on one side and has 5/16 machine thread on the other. I double nut the machined side to run it into the lead and then remove 1 nut to install the wire. I have had these done on hundreds of batteries over the years and never had trouble with them lasting years......

Home Depot has stainless hanger bolts and nuts. I think I have 3 factory terminals left on my old tired 1275's. You think I might be a little over torqued?

Any idea what the ‘typical’ life is for Trojan 12v batteries? Thanks

I've gotten 5+ years out of a 12V pack with proper care and maintenance (watering, charging, keeping clean). The average is probably in the 4-5 year range provided they are cared for.

Thanks! So the dealer saying 6-8 years was just dealer talk and not common reality then.

so I was riding yesterday in the neighboor hood and went over a speed bump and the golf cart stopped. I lifted the seat and another one of the battery post was breaking loose. So this all happened right before santa claus neighborhood christmas parade so there are several people outside waiting for it and only way I could the cart home was to use a crescent wrench I leave on the cart to hold the battery post tight to the battery and ride with home with the seat off squatted in the floor. lol I got some crazy looks.

This is the third battery post I have repaired in the last month or two.
