Mike,
You were right, no surprise there. I had a front end guy I have used on my auto`s add 1/2 inch worth of spacers to my shock spring. They worked perfect. it lined up my front end and gave me the couple of inches rise that I needed.
He took them apart and added large washers, 1/2 inch worth. I paid $40.00 for both. Considering I do not have a spring compressor, I thought that was a fair deal.
Like I said, it worked out perfect. Thanks for the advice. I think when I replace the shocks in a few months I will go ahead and add the split collar before installing. Take look at the pic, not as pretty as yours of course but for my hunting buggy it works just fine.

Thanks again.
Dave

Hey Mike,
I am working toward those pics you asked for, but I ran into a brake hub issue.
I bought new hubs for the G1 but they won`t seem to go all the way on. It`s not the shoes, I adjusted the star bolt and the hub clears them no problem.
The hubs look a little different than the old ones but they go on ok, just not all the way. Attached are some pics, maybe you or someone else can help.
I bought the from a shop local and they look just like some I bought from Buggies unlimited a few years ago and they would not fit either.
This shop had some EZ-GO hubs that look exactly like my old G1 hubs, could they work.

Help please.

I feel for ya. I buy new OEM brake drums and the aren't machined correctly either Do you have a table mounted grinder or sander or a lathe? If so, you can take the axle out and grind/sand off some of the round portion of the axle flange. Doesn't take much. Still very frustrating to even have to do it.

Take the drums with you and have them take enough off that they fit nicely.

Thanks,
And I apologize for the stupid question. I thought of that and took the axles out and will take them with the hubs.
You answered before I could get back on and say, "duh".
Sometimes I am not to swift. Sorry

Dave, follow Smallblocks lead on this, he knows everything there is to know about carts!!

I was just thinking, you might go buy a Harbor Freight "4 and a half inch angle grinder and cut them your self. Put the axles back in the rear end, and if you apply the grinder a certain way, the axle will rotate it self as you grind. Just don't let the grinder run away and gouge the threaded studs!!

Thanks Mike and all,
I took them to a guy that works on travel trailers and builds race cars here for local racing, he fabricates some of his own parts. He ground them for me and charged me twenty bucks and the hubs know fit on the axle flange perfectly. I can`t wait to install them. I think that was a heck of a deal.
He also said that the hubs were both a little different in size. Go figure, you pay good money for something and you have to have them adjusted before use.
Thanks Smallblock,
As usual I was pulling my hair out because the hubs would not fit. I am one of those guys that has trouble thinking outside of the box I guess.
Thanks again for all you experienced experts.

And Mike, I will post those pics in a couple of days. Although next to yours, mine is rather lacking. But I still love it.

Hey Mike,
I got some new pics for you to look at. It looks about the same. I do try and take care of my cart as best I can, hunting out of it and all. It gets the garage and my car lives outside. Unlike our other members on 4 wheelers, I try and dodge the mud holes when possible. And every return home I stop by the car wash. it is not fast of course, but it does just fine on those logging roads. I do have stealth on my side.
Dosen`t look as sweet as a lot of others here on the forum, but I am proud of it.

Dave

P.S sorry some of the pics are sideways, I am not a great computer guy.
