Default Wiring size question

I attempted to use three 12V batteries to run my cart. I used #6 AWG from battery to battery for 36V. I have determined that this was a bad decision and have purchased the six 6V batteries I should have bought from the beginning. Now the question is, can I use the #6 wire or should I go to something heavier like #4 AWG. I can't find a calculation for DC to tell me with 200A/H batteries what is needed. I've got plenty of #6 but I'm skeptical about whether or not it will become hot with continuous use.

same gauge as regular wire. welding cable just has more strands. More strands, less loss better flexibility and disbursement.

THHN or THNN all that is AC wire. ( high voltage - low amperage)
Welding cable is specifically designed for high amperage use. Comes in many gauges.
4g and 2g seem to fit most all golf cart applications
