Post Ezgo

The other day I was climbing a steep hill so the golf cart was going snail speed. When I drove my cart back to base it had a loose fried battery cable. The battery terminal was burned and turned white. Do you think the battery is still good when it is burned white and really hot? For now on until I get my new set of 6 6volt batterys I am going to stay on minor hills with my 4 8volts. I am going to use my current setup of 4 8volts until summer, then when summer is here I will get new 6 volts. But for now I will try to use the burnt battery? Is that safe? Will that damage anything?
