Noise from TXT, Won't Move
Hi,
I have an EZ GO TXT Series that suddenly won't work. When you try to go forward you hear the click however it won't move. You can hear the motor going but the back wheels just won't move. Any ideas? |

Do a search for "Spun Hub" and you will find the answer you are seeking.

How can I tell, could it be something stupid like a stuck gear or a loose bolt?

Re: Noise from TXT, Won't Move
No it's a spun hub, common ezgo problem. remove the hub cap (and dust cover if it exists) so you can see the axle nut. Put the cart on the ground with the tire on if you removed it ..... have somebody press the gas to go while you watch. If the axle nut spins while the wheel stays still you need a new brake drum (axle hub). Be sure to inspect both side..... damage is likely to the passenger side.

The spooned on the drum are stripped out and the axle is not catching the hub therefore not spinning the wheels.

Yes I did!!! Lol that just sounded wrong. Darn iPhone auto correcting my words. Lol
If your drums are stripped out now is the perfect time to contact Scotty for a rear disk conversion. New drums are gonna cost you close to two thirds the price of the disk brake kit!!! |
