Default G2 Key Switch Question

I am finishing up wiring of a carts unlimited C54U conversion kit for my 1986 Yamaha G2. I need to tie the new electronic gas pedal into the 48v battery pack on the key switch. Looking at the G2 wiring diagram sticky thread it looks like the red wire is the 36 or in my case 48v power and the brown would be the "on" switch wire.

I'm learning about wiring circuits as I'm about to wire up a 48v to 12v reducer, a 12 circuit fuse panel, and 6 rocker switches to run 12v accessories. The carts unlimited gas pedal needs 36-48v to operate.

Would I be correct to hook red wire from the key switch to positive terminal of battery pack and hook the brown key switch wire to the positive of the electronic gas pedal? I will then cap off all the other wires of the stock key switch...
