Cart Moves then Stops
Cart was be driven by somebody else then stopped. I figured the batteries were dead so did not do anything with it for a couple months.
Decided to make it work again. Charged it, fixed the brake that was stuck and decided to go. It moved 5 feet, then completly stopped. Waited a few minutes and it would move a foot, then stop. Wait a few hours and it repeats the cycle. Batteries are around 50, with each being a few volts of each other (8.2 to 8.6). All my connections look good. My battery meter will drop voltage when driving, then once it stops (pedal still down) it will go back to the normal voltage. Could something be getting hot? |

Re: Cart Moves then Stops
How far down does the voltage drop? Does your meter show actual voltage or just a range? You may have to put a multimeter on the battery pack and then drive it see if the voltage is dropping out under load. How old are the batteries? Did they sit without being charged during the time the cart wasn't used?

Re: Cart Moves then Stops
What kind of cart are we talking about here? There are several different drive systems and they all behave differently. Do you have the vehicle serial number you can share with us? Or some pics of the battery compartment and the F&R switch?

Re: Cart Moves then Stops
If it's an IQ car it sounds like you may have an mcor problem. Unplug the two pin connector from the mcor and jump the green to blue wires together inside the connector with a paperclip. If the car runs normally with the jumper in place, replace the mcor with kit number AM293101

Re: Cart Moves then Stops
Ill have to do more testing tomorrow. The batteries are getting up there in age. Probably around 5 years. It was only charged two times in about 5 to 6 weeks.
Meter shows voltage. IIRC, it drops down to 43 range. Its the cart in sig. |

Re: Cart Moves then Stops
Tested the mcor and it did the samething. Also tested the speed sensor and the cart starting beeping.
Voltage drops about 5 volts when cart is moving. |
