battery gauge
I am getting ready to install one on my 48 volt ezgo. has the segmented bars the start green, then yellow, and finally red.
What is the best way to read this type of gauge? We use the cart for hunting. When should I be concerned about the state of charge with this type of meter? Thanks Foster |

Re: battery gauge
The multi colored 10-led meters are various brands of China quality (we all know how awesome that is). Who knows what it means. As long as it lights up, it's good enough for China. Heres a plan for "equal to China accuracy", Just hook some Christmas lights up, when they get dim, time to charge.

Re: battery gauge
What these guys are trying to tell you is the LED ladder bar meters are inaccurate and typically deceive the user into thinking there is more battery reserve left than there really is. The result is a deeply discharged battery pack which can lead to a couple of problems. One being excessively high heat damage to system components and the other being shortened battery life.
Get a digital meter and monitor real time voltage for best results |

Re: battery gauge
What is the voltage shown when one needs to start thinking about a recharge? I have been charging any time the voltage gets down to 33 vdc. Is that too high or low?
I have one of those 'bar' meters, but just do not trust it! henri |

NO-oooo... 33v! You are excessively discharging your batteries. GET THE METER TODAY ! Recharge before 36v for longer useful life. (for the batteries - not you ) |

Re: battery gauge
The more charged you keep your batteries the longer they will last. Charge as often as is reasonable. Try to keep your batteries above 50% SOC.
