Default 06 Precedent Professional Charging Problems

Hey There,

I've got a 06 Precedent Professional with 4 month old batteries that I cannot get to charge. I've by passed the Club Car IQ/Excel OBC and have also cut and joined together the blue and white wire.. I've got a bran new charger and the old charger and both are behaving the same.

The chargers will only charge the batteries for an hour to an hour and a half. Never do either chargers ( old and new ) stay on long enough to fully charge the batteries. The power meter is blinking red and the last charge time was 14 minutes.

Any thoughts on what to do next.

Do You have more than one cable (or wire) on pack negative battery post?

If not and You have already reset the OBC, it looks like the OBC has failed.

Sergio,

I thought i had bypass the obc charging current control SCR by running the negative 10ga wire from the back of the charger receptacle directly to B- or pack negative. And then I wired together the white and blue wire.

There is three black wires at the negative battery post. One runs to the controller, one comes from the charger receptacle and the last one goes to the battery meter.

What have I missed.?

I did not realize You have a "smart charger" now...

That is the correct procedure for removing the OBC from the charging and lockout systems.

What brand and model charger are You using now?

If you measure the voltage right at the cart's charger receptacle + and - sockets, are you getting pack voltage?

Sorry for the delay,

I finally realized my charger is not an intelligent charger so no choice but to replace the OBC or purchase a different charger..

Thanks for all your help
