Re: 1998 TXT Build Thread
I had it painted at Peach Auto Paint for $200. I delivered them the parts off the cart and they did a pretty good job with metal flake paint.
Batteries, controller, battery cables, paint, a bunch of rattle cans, new wheels/tires, and a lot of misc. parts....probably around $2100-2200 on top of the price of the cart. Then I bought a Yewy charger from Scotty. |

Re: 1998 TXT Build Thread
Peach said that they paint "loose body parts" for $100 each. I had prepped the two pieces and all they had to do was finish sand, prime, and paint. Not the best job in the world, but for a golf cart it looks good.

Re: 1998 TXT Build Thread
My friend in central NC with the custom shop charges $500 to paint a golf cart body. He does all the work though and fixes damage before painting.

Re: 1998 TXT Build Thread
I know that I put in many hours learning to fiberglass and actually doing it to fix a crack, learning how to use body filler and actually doing it, and a lot of sanding to get it smooth. I filled every little scar on it and fixed a crack that was probably a foot long on the front right corner. An extra $300 might have been a good deal except for how much I learned in the process.
And don't tell my wife, but I actually enjoyed doing it. My story to her is how hard I had to work to get the cart looking good for her to ride in. |

Re: 1998 TXT Build Thread
I went over all of the scuff marks with a heat gun to melt down all of the loose plastic bits. Then I used some black plastic spray paint. I tried some black bed liner, but didn't like it as much.
