Re: Brand of Batteries
I am also looking for batteries I live in NC and have a 48 volt system this will be the first time buying batteries but I don't know what to get. A few of really good experienced cart guys on here states that just buy what you can afford and take care of them ... And they should take care of you. I. Personally looking at the us batteries I have found to be about 630$ a set for 48volt system. There are others in the 500$ range as well what are your thoughts on it?

Re: Brand of Batteries
You get what you pay for. Get the best you can afford which are usually Trojan T875, US Battery Reds or Crown 190s. If you can't afford those get what you can.
Either way if you look after them, you'll get the maximum life those batteries are capable of. As a generalisation, if you spend the money up front for the better batteries they will be better value in the long run as they will last longer and give better service. |

Re: Brand of Batteries
Ron; if you're in Durham, check with a guy off of US540 going towards Apex. His name is Byron and I think his shop is called the Golf Cart Guy IIRC. He had the best prices on batteries when I was looking a few years ago from RDU to Fayetteville. He had US Battery and Trojans, plus he delivered mine for no extra cost.
Edit: I just found his contact info in my phone. I'll PM you. |

Re: Brand of Batteries
One thing to remember, guys & gals...your batteries are only as good as the charger behind it. If you are running a cheap, under-powered throw away charger, it doesn't matter how much you spend on batteries.
Good chargers & proper maintenance can make mediocre batteries great, but junk chargers or poor maintenance will destroy ANY battery. Sent from my SM-T387AA using Tapatalk |
