What this stuff does is keep the gassing that normally occurs when re-charging....keep the gas "stuff" away from the metal....which will cause corrosion. It's like wearing a garlic neckless when in vampire territory.
10-4 never thought of that. Use that often on aluminum service cables. Never thought of puttin it on battery posts... keep that **** off your clothes! Will destroy a load of laundry!

Cleaning battery corrosion will put nice little holes in the clothing you're wearing if it get's on 'em.

But....good to know about this product. I usually applied it with latex gloves on.....just because it's not the easiest product to remove from you hands.

Exactly what I was going to recommend! Wire wheel on drill to clean off rust, then paint the bare metal or you will not fix the problem only treat the symptoms.
